zen bluesmen

"Without accepting the fact that everything changes, we cannot find perfect composure. But unfortunately, although it is true, it is difficult for us to accept it. Because we cannot accept the truth of transience, we suffer."

-Roshi Shunryu Suzuki

"Serves you right to suffer...serves you right to be alone...can't go on livin' in the past...them days...is gone."

- Roshi John Lee Hooker

I bought The Healer in Toronto when I was 19. On vinyl. Sadly, it was bartered away, with all my vinyl, in order to pay off some rather dubious debts accrued in the mid-90s. Jeff Becks, Cheap Tricks, Queens, Black Sabbaths, Kisses, and even some Beatles and Rare Earth that were given to me.

The Healer was probably the last vinyl I ever bought, circa 1989. Those are sage words -- even if I can't always heed them.
